Behavioral Health

Behavioral Health offers three levels of psychiatric care to the Frederick region. Emergency evaluation, inpatient hospitalization, and psychiatric partial hospitalization are in place to serve every level of acute psychiatric need. Once stabilized, patients are linked to the most appropriate outpatient levels of care in their community including outpatient counseling, psychiatric medication management, and case-management services to facilitate fuller recovery from their symptoms.

Crisis Management Services / Emergency Department:

Evaluation and disposition of acute psychiatric referrals from the community including emergency petitions.

  • Full medical screening to rule out physiological causes of psychiatric symptoms
  • Access to medical admissions when necessary
  • Crisis Evaluation by licensed mental health professional
  • Admission or transfer as needed to inpatient level of care
  • Referrals to community outpatient providers and other services as indicated

Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit:

A safe supervised setting to recover from acute psychiatric symptoms such as suicidality, mania, major depression, psychosis, and severe anxiety. Our unit includes:

  • 21 beds
  • Voluntary and Involuntary admissions
  • Private and semi-private rooms

Psychiatric Partial Hospital Program:

Intensive mental health care for acute exacerbation of psychiatric symptoms.

  • Evaluation by licensed mental health professionals
  • Group Therapy covering an array of skills
  • Individual and family sessions as indicated
  • Psychiatric medication monitoring
  • Referral to outpatient level of care when complete
